EL 8457 Esmeralda West Sixth and Final Annual Report for the year ended 30 November 2000

Abstract

This report detail exploration activity undertaken during the licence life including gridding, sampling drilling, aerial photography, aeromagnetic and radiometric surveys and interpretations. During the first year of tenure soil sampling results delineated a large weakly anomalous region extending through the center of the licence with coincident Pb and As. To the eastern margin of the area an anomalous zone of Zn in soils was delineated. Follow up sampling program returned disappointing values with a maximum value of gold 42ppb. A structural investigation conducted in year 3 generated several targets for further testing. Follow up RC and RAB drilling programs returned disappointing values with best results from the northern part ranged between 10-57 ppb Au. Regional geophysical data compilation and regional gravity survey was carried out. Due to lack of high priority targets within the Esmeralda West lease no exploration was carried out in year 5 and 6, apart of rehabilitation work.
