Spiriy Hills exploration licence 9665 annual report for the period ending 21 December 1997

Abstract

Initially 105 heavy mineral samples were collected. 2 samples returned a diamond each and 21 returned chromites. 4 of the samples returning chromite are regarded as significant. 80 follow up samples were collected. One diamond and 22 chromites were recovered. The diamond was collected in close proximity to a previously recovered diamond from the reconnaissance program. A third phase of exploration consisted of a further 71 samples. 15 chromites were recovered. They are of little interest. A pebbly conglomeratic horizon was noted up stream of the diamond site and regarded as a possible source.
