Abstract: This report summarises work carried out by Placer Exploration on these licences during the year ending 31-01-1991. Detailed ground magnetic surveys were carried out over The M2, M15 and M16 magnetic targets. Vacuum drilling was undertaken on magnetic anomalies M8, M16 and M25. M2 was RAB drilled in order to identify any anomalous dispersion in the sheared bedrocks. The bedrock drilling failed to identify the presence of any ironstone mineralisation/alteration or anomalous dispersion within the bedrock surrounding these targets. A single RC hole was drilled on anomaly M15, and intersected Pb-Zn mineralisation within a crystal-tuff horizon interbedded with clayey siltstone. The best intersect was 4m at 0.21% Pb and 0.14% Zn. A transient electromagnetic survey was also completed over the M15 anomaly using a Sirotem instrument. Finally one diamond drill hole was drilled in M2 to test porphyry-hosted ironstone mineralisation in previous RC drilling. Diamond drilling intersected barren, porphyry-hosted ironstone. It is considered unlikely that a large tonnage mineralised ironstone body exists at depth, and so no further work is warranted.
