Abstract: | Exploration within the SEL consisted of rock chip sampling of anomalous HMC and bedrock values defined by PosGold in the past. Areas inaccessible to the vacuum drill rig were also acessed. A total of 211 samples were collected and analysed. Rock chip sampling failed to identify significant geochemical anomalism associated with vacuum HMC or bedrock anomalies. this may be due to the simple observation that all outcropping rock is quite weathered and likely to be equally leached of metals. Samples from a quartz blow in the eastern returned values to 240ppb Au. Follow up returned 4.15g-t Au. 1km away rock chip sampling returned anomalous copper and bismuth. The only significant gold anomaly of 6.5ppb Au came from along strike from a thin ironstone body in the western area. Anomalous Cu levels (greater than 10ppm) in the area were returned over and along strike from both ironstones and over many quartz blows. although weak, this anomalism has a strong geological relation and will be the focus of future exploration in the area. |
