Title: 2nd annual report for EL 7821 for the period 14-08-1993 to 13-08-1994, Tennant Creek district, NT, Barkley south prospect

Year: 1994

Abstract: EL 7821 is located 19km ENE of Tennant Creek township. During the second year of tenure results for the overburden samples collected during the vacuum drilling programme have been received. The 56 overburden samples collected were wet screened undergoing heavy mineral concentration. The results offer some encouragement with peak assays of 13 ppb Au, 933 ppm Cu, 8 ppm Bi, 990 ppm Zn and 4,740 ppm Mn. Both the bedrock and HMC assay results indicate a coincident zone of anomalism which trends WNW through the centre of the grid. However much of the outer zone of the licence are interpreted to conceal Proterozoic granite and Cambrian basin sedimentary rocks, which at present are believed to be unprospective. The regional prospectivity of the licence was interpreted using available magnetics, geomorphology, photogeological mapping, and gravity data.
