Abstract: 37 rock chip samples were collected. Encouraging results for Au were returned from Happy Valley, George Creek, Possum and the Adelaide River Mine areas. Base metal results were generally low. Closed spaced soil sampling was carried out over Happy Valley, Possum and George Creek. Sampling at Happy Valley delineated a 300m x 140m Au anomaly. The anomaly is in the hinge of zone of an anticline coincident with a zone of sheared quartz veined quartz pebble conglomerate. At Possum 2 parallel anomalies were defined. Anomaly 1 is 300 x 100m with values to 129ppb Au while Anomaly 2 is 400 x 60m and of generally lower tenor. Both anomalies are open to the north and on an anticlinal axis. Two anomalous zones were also outlined at George Creek. Anomaly 1 at George Creek is a spot high of 144ppb Au surrounded by a number of weakly anomalous values. Repeat tests of the sample suggest that coarse gold was contained. Anomaly 2 is 350 x 60m trending 330 degrees and open both ends with a maximum value of 15ppb this anomaly is east of the George Creek Uranium workings. An orientation stream sediment program was undertaken. The results suggest that this method is useful as first pass exploration for Happy Valley type mineralisation.
