Abstract: Exploration over the EL's during 1991 involved follow up field work for diamonds, base metals and gold. Diamond exploration included follow up heavy mineral sampling within EL 6289, EL 6290, EL 6291 and EL 6292. Results were disappointing as the original results were not repeated and no dispersion trails were identified. In EL 6298 a RAB, RC programme was undertaken over a number of aeromagnetic anomalies. The drilling failed to encounter any ultramafics of interest. A small aeromagnetic survey flown over EL 6291 identified 2 magnetic bodies. Follow up ground magnetics determined the source of these anomalies to be at depth, and no geochemical or drilling programme was considered warranted. Geochemical exploration for base metals targeting primarily Cu, Pb, Zn and Au was carried over EL 6287, EL 2688, EL 6289 and 6291. Detailed interpretation of results was still in progress at the time of reporting. Poseidon Exploration carried out detailed stream sediment, soil and rock chip geochemistry over EL 6289, EL 6292, EL 6293, EL 6296, EL 6297, EL 6298 and EL 6299. Weak Pb, Zn, Cu, Bi and U anomalies were recognised from ELs south of the Roper River. A number of low order Au responses were also obtained from EL 6299.
