Abstract: The Aerodata Questem EM survey totalling 852 kms was flown over 4 areas. It appears that this method suffers from poor definition within the Batten Trough Area, primarily due to the widespread occurrence black soil, which represents a flat lying sheetlike conductor difficult to distinguish from the likely response from stratiform sulphide bodies. 8 percussion holes drilled at Hammer North, Hammers Cu prospect and Great Scott (areas with good EM conductors) failed to intersect any mineralisation. All holes were abandoned short of target and the drill programme curtailed due to problems encountered during drilling. 27 samples of veined carbonate rock were collected carbon-oxygen isotope studies. This work (preliminary) failed to highlight a major hydrothermal system in the Mariner-Tawallah Trend. Results indicate moderate carbonate deposition temperatures. Airborne EM flown by Aerodata October 1991, 8532 line kilometres EM and aeromagnetics flown over 4 selected areas. 2 ground max-min EM surveys totalling 15km.
