Abstract: The area has a complex magnetic signature, much of which is associated with unprospective geology. There are 2 areas with distinctive responses (Skink and Goanna). These 2 areas were tested by shallow vacuum drilling. Lithologically these areas are within the Carraman formation. In the Skink drillings the presence of green? chloritic clays, minor calcite and secondary specular haematite appears to indicate hydrothermal alteration. Results are not obviously anomalous.
Structural features reported include: North Star zone.
