Title: | Final report on EL 2508: Areas retained under tenure 29 June 1988 and 28 June 1998 |
Title Holder / Company: | Afmeco Mining and Exploration |
Report id: | CR1998-0632 |
Tenure: | EL2508 |
Year: | 1998 |
Abstract: | The first two years of exploration conducted on the licence are on open file. The report details the work completed on anomalies N147, U65 and SMLB and consisted of RAB and RC drilling with diamond tails. Anomaly N147 was considered to be the possible extension of the Nabarlek mineralisation to the Southeast. Primary uranium mineralisation was discovered in a highly altered zone within schists beneath the Kombolgie Sandstone and the Oenpelli Dolermite, in addition the Nabarlek shear was intersected but was poorly mineralised. The SMLB anomaly is located 1.5km north of the Nabarlek Mine and is located on the Nabarlek shear. Some strong uranium mineralisation was intersected along the Boundary Fault but is discontinuous. |
