| Abstract: | A preliminary helicopter-borne geochemical sampling programme was completed in August 1990. Areas targetted for sampling were those which represented magnetic anomalies. All samples have undergone geochemical analysis and only 2 samples were analysed petrographically. Eventhough six targets were selected, only targets 1 and 3 were considered most adequate for sampling, as have at least some outcrop. The rest of the targets are covered by laterite, soil and sand. The ferruginous quartzite in target 1 gave maximum values of 356ppm Cu and 212ppm Zn. A sample from a thin quartz vein in the same target assayed 0.63ppm Au. Banded ironstone in target 3 returned a value of 8ppb Au. |
