Abstract: The northeast of the area consists of undulating country along the western side of the Negri River. This is separated by abrupt escarpments from rugged tablelands formed by basaltic lavas in the south-western part. Access to the area is by a station track which link the Duncan Highway to the northwest with Kirkimbie homestead to the south. The area is semi-arid with open grasslands and scattered scrub, and is used solely for beef cattle grazing. This property, together with several others in the district, was included in prospectus for a public listing on the Stock Exchange to raise funds for exploration and development. By late 1988, it was evident that market conditions were un-favourable and the listing was abandoned, by which time weather conditions made field work impracticable. Accordingly work during the first year was restricted to literature research and preparation of prospectus reports.
