Title: Annual report year 2, EL 5089 Copperfield and Playford Creek.
Title Holder / Company: Quest, AJ
Report id: CR1989-0287
Tenure: EL5089
Year: 1989
Author: Quest, AJ
Abstract: The area covers rocks of the Burrell Creek Formation 10 km South West of the Pine Creek Shear Zone. The South Western tip of the permit extends onto the Cullen Batholith. Outcrop on the area is generally poor but the few exposures examined would suggest that the rocks are generally steeply dipping in a complex, tight fold pattern. The principal strike direction appears to be North-North Westerly although there is evidence of shear zones trending in a North Easterly direction which also have small associated drag folds. Tin mineralised zones occur in the South Eastern part of the EL, and in traces in stream sampling. Shear quartz veins showed Gold .06. Exploration completed on EL 5089 consisted of;
1) Stream sampling/panning off
2) Chip sampling
3) Consteaning
The EL 5089 has assays so far that indicate there could be Gold with the Tin and requires more assaying
