Title: | First annual report for EL 5580 Tipperary NT. |
Title Holder / Company: | Newmont Australia |
Report id: | CR1989-0248 |
Tenure: | EL5580 |
Year: | 1989 |
Author: | Pearson, DF |
Abstract: | Application for EL 5580 was originally made to provide the broad coverage neccessary to test the concept that the margins of the Cambrian to Ordovician Daly River Basin may be host to precious and base metal mineralisation related to major NNW trending structures in the Lower Proterozoic basement. This theory has been tested by analysis of airbourne geophysical data, geological reconnaissance and broad spaced geochemical sampling. This work has provided very little encouragement and so it is proposed to substantially reduce the size of the licence. Exploration proposed for the second year of the licence will be directed at the reduced area and will include geological mapping, surface geochemistry and ground based geophysics. |
