Abstract: | Exploration Licence 5009 is situated on the northeastern limb of a domal fold which pinches northwestwards into the Howley Anticline. The main exploration target is the Koolpin Formation which contains the strike extensions of the ore bearing horizons at Cosmo Howley gold mine situated some five kilometres to the west. An initial programme of reconnaissance geology and geochemistry, and soil sampling of the Koolpin areas, was completed by Oceania Exploration and Mining in July/August 1987. A follow-up programme of detailed mapping and rock chip sampling was undertaken by Norgold Limited in December, 1987. |
