Abstract: | Exploration Licence 5309 was initially granted to A. Wells and D. Gilbert on 13/8/S7. The size of 1 block being 3 sq.kms. After a 3 month period a fair and equitable negotiation took place, and D. Gilbert decided to withdraw from the Exploration Programme completely. This was duly approved and registered by the Department of Mines and Energy on 26th November, 1987 - dealing #4569. An Exploration Programme took place during the first year of tenure outlined in this report. An office in Darwin was found to represent A. Wells for all correspondence. Mr. James Waters, Solicitor, 46 Wood Street, Darwin. N.T. A field exploration base camp was established on Lot 14 Section 1319 in the Batchelor area. This base camp housed Personnel and equipment during the field trips. Field trips took place until the start of the wet season. The base camp was relocated on 18th November, 1987, as during the wet season the Finniss River becomes impassable, isolating the camp from Batchelor. The only access to the base camp is on a single road that crosses the creek. Work carried out during the first year of tenure: (1) A detailed review of previous exploration. (2) High quality aerial photography. (3) Reconnaissance geological mapping and geochemical sampling of each EL. (4) Topographical survey of boundaries. (5) Survey on 5429 - location of previously explored base metal anomaly - 'Hoppy Anotholies'. |
