| Abstract: | Significant gold mineralisation was indicated by rock-chip samples collected during a recent rock chip sampling programme. A total of 173 samples revealed some gold mineralisation and widespread base metal mineralisation. All mineralisation can be related to structure. Most mineralisation was found to be associated with lower parts of the Masson Formation, in quartz filled fault lines in argillaceous metasediments. Mineralisation may also be structure determined, situated on the top of fold axes or on their limbs. No Zamu dolerite was found in the present programme and mineralisation does not appear to occur on felsite dykes associated with Minglo granite intrusions. In order to obtain a better indication of gold mineralisation in bedrock, Eastern Gold plans a programme of twenty trenches on EL5534. This programme will be based on the best assay values obtained during recent sampling. |
