Abstract: | Encouraging results were obtained during the year for gold mineralization. An extensive stream sedinent sampling programme was undertaken and free gold was found in many creeks. Tin is also widespread over the area of the EL and this will be actively prospected for in addition to the gold mineralization. Gold however is my main target at present with the main area of interest being a south plunging anticline into Mt Bonnie formation. This has proved in other areas to be a good host for gold mineralization. This anticline is shedding gold actively into creeks draining fran it. An extensive progranme of dollying and a few assay sariples however failed to find the source. Cbvious good looking? stock work material was concentrated on but obviously we must look for another host for the gold. An old gold show? interestingly runs across the general strike of the country. The significance of this is not yet apparent. Tin was only sanpled by pan and dollying but my observation tended to point to a similar structural placexient as for the gold mineralization. |
