Title: | Annual Report for 1987 on EL 3239 including the Barite Resources of the Kirrimbie Yard area. |
Title Holder / Company: | Nibar Mining |
Report id: | CR1987-0077 |
Tenure: | EL3239 |
Year: | 1987 |
Author: | Cornish, BE |
Abstract: | Nibar and Cornish and associates have a series of MLs and an EL over the Kirrkimbie Barite deposits. This report indicates that the EL is to be surrendered. Steeply dipping barite veins occur in the Antrim Plateau Basalt. Of the six largest known barite veins systems, two (West and Main Lodes) were mined by South Australian Barytes in 1971-72. About 30,000 tonnes were removed. The six lodes are estimated to contain 475,000 tonnes. Individual assessments are given for each lode. These have not been upgraded under the current period of tenure and this report is essentially the same as most of the previous annuals. |
