Abstract: | Exploration Licence 2075 was granted to AAR Limited on the 16th August 1979 for a period of twelve months. A twelve month renewal was granted on the 16th August 1980. A 50% relinquishment was made on the 16th August, 1981. During the period 16th August 1980 to 16th August 1981 a programme of geological mapping, rock chip sampling, gridding and radiometric traversing was conducted in the project area. The geology of the EL 2075 consists of a sequence of Lower Proterozoic sedimentary rocks, belonging to the Mount Partridge Group and South Alligator Group, that have been domed by an early Carpentarian Granite. Prior to the intrusion of the granite the sedimentary rocks were intruded by a swarm of doleritic sills. Fifty-nine (59) rock chip samples were collected and assayed for Cu, Pb, Zn, U, Ag, Bi, Mn, As, Sb, Au,.Sn, W and Th. A total of sixty (60.0) line kilometres of gridding were established on 200 x 200 metre or 100 x 100 metre centres. Radiometric traverses were carried out along, east-west lines. |
