Abstract: EL 1294 covers an area of 1241 km2 of the Arunta Block, and is located about 150 km north-north-west of Alice Springs, Northern Territory. EL 1294 was granted to CSR Limited on 7 September 1976 and was renewed on 7 September 1977. The major thrust of exploration in this area has been directed towards uranium. Other possible exploration targets include base metals, and some sampling has also been directed towards covering the potential for tungsten on the south side of Reynolds Range. Exploration work carried out during the period has consisted of; a) stream sediment geochemical sampling during June 1978, b) the interpretation of radiometric data from an airborne geophysical survey which was flown during the preceding year, c) traverses with hand held scintillometers, d) ground follow-up work of fourteen interpreted radiometric anomalies, e) re-sampling of sites of eleven anomalous uranium, copper, lead or zinc values collected during previous geochemical sampling programmes.
