Abstract: Exploration Licence 9065 was granted to Aberfoyle Resources Ltd on April 27, 1995. The tenement was pegged to explore for Zn-Pb-Cu mineralisation in the Middle Proterozoic lithologies of the McArthur Basin. The proximity of this tenement to others in the district, its similar geological setting and program has led to EL 9065 and others in the project being explored as one block. Exposed bedrock in EL 9065 is limited to the far northern corner of the tenement only. Interpretation of existing aerial magnetics data suggests the presence of prospective structures. Government mapping suggests close proximity to favourable sediments for SEDEX mineralisation. If the depth of cover in this tenement is relatively shallow as expected, there may be scope for greater anomaly discrimination through the use of conventional surface techniques. Work completed on the relinquished portions of the tenement has centered around a major airborne EM survey. A geophysical interpretation of regional public domain aerial magnetics enabled initial target areas to be chosen for coverage for the airborne EM survey. All of EL 9065 was covered by this survey, of which approximately 450 line kilometers of data occurred within the relinquished portion. No features of interest were interpreted from within the relinquished portions of EL 9065.
