Abstract: | This report covers exploration work conducted on Exploration Retention Lease No 74 by Geopeko (A Division of Peko Wallsend Operations Limited) during the first year of tenure 24/12/1987 to 23/12/1988. ERL 74 covers an area of 532 hectares and is located in the White Devil area, approximately 35 kms north west of Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory (TF 4149). The application for this area was made on 23/04/1987 following work undertaken by Geopeko on Exploration Licence 3573 which identified a number of significant anomalies in the vicinity of the Black Angel/White Devil gold deposits (TF 3812). Exploration during the first year of tenure has been directed at following up; (a) near surface extensions to the White Devil shear structure and lode system. (b) repetition of the White Devil Deeps ironstone to the north of the mine. (c) deep seated ironstone lodes within magnetic sediments to the east of White Devil. |
