Title: NT report on 3 year exploration to 20 April 1989.
Title Holder / Company: Magnum Resources
Report id: CR1989-0299
Tenure: EL4902
Year: 1989
Author: Jenkins, BL
Abstract: Work in the current period of tenure of EL4902, embracing further surface mapping and sampling, limited percussion and reverse circulation drilling, and a trial self potential geophysical survey has confirmed the presence of anomalous gold mineralization suggested by previous work in an area of gossanous outcrop known as the Redbank Prospect. One drillhole, WGPDH008, intersected 8 metres assaying 19.3g/t gold from 2 to10 metres, and although other holes in the same vicinity recorded anomalous intercepts, none approached this combination of width and grade. The Redbank mineralization is shown to be complex and erratic in nature, and although the trial SP survey failed to elucidate the situation, further detailed work is clearly warranted. A programme of additional mapping and sampling, geochemistry and trial ground magnetometry has been recommended for the forthcoming field season. During the year under review, the following programmes were undertaken (or commenced): 1. -80# Arsenic soil sampling traverses 2. Additional mapping and surface sampling 3. RAB bedrock geochemistry 4. Drilling - both percussion arid reverse circulation 5. Self potential geophysical survey
