Abstract: An aeromagnetic survey was flown over the Gosse River area, by Austirex using a Scintrex viw 2321-H6 magnetometer, a flight line spacing of 250 metres and a mean terrain clearance of 80 metres. Based on the characteristic magnetic signature of the ironstone bodies, which often host Au, Cu and Bi mineralisation, three anomalies were identified from the contour map of regional magnetic intensity. After analysis of the aeromagnetic data the three anomalies known to Oorodidgee 1 Anomaly 2, 3 and 5, were located on the ground by satellite navigation equipment. Once the anomaly was located, reconnaissance magnetics was undertaken using a Geometrics G816 Proton Precession Magnetometer, traversed along lines orientated by a compass and distance measured by pacing. The method of location and gridding is known to be less than accurate in some cases. All data was corrected for-magnetic drift and then plotted to produce profiles.
