Abstract: | Exploration licence EL4841 covers some 2400 metres strike length of the iron-rich metasediments of the Koolpin Formation which contain the Golden Dyke stratabound gold orebody close to the western edge of the licence. The sediments, with associated mafic sills, are folded into a series of faulted anticlines and synclines on the southern margin of a complex dome structure. Geochemical soil surveys have delineated three areas of anomalous gold values, sometimes associated with anomalous arsenic, which are interpreted as indicating general areas of hypogene gold mineralisation. This may be of Golden Dyke type but could be of a different character. Further programmes of soil and rock-chip sampling and trenching are proposed to determine whether targets are present which would warrant drill testing. |
