Annual Report EL 1886 Bridge Creek for year ending 01/1983

Abstract

Exploration Licence 1886 is located approximately 150 kilometres south of Darwin on the Stuart Highway. The licence was granted to Chrisp de Vries and Associates and is operated by Talmina Trading Pty Ltd who have acquired a 90% equity in the lease.

The northern extension of the mineralized Howley Gold Line runs through the licence area and typical rock units of the Gerowie Tuff, Mt Bonnie and Burrell Creek Formations occur within the EL.

The area has potential for a medium sized gold ore body associated with the Howley anticline. Exploration is at an preliminary stage but 20 percussion holes have been drilled and low but consistent gold grades have been intersected in black shales and intectonic zones associated with the anticline. An extensive exploration programme is planned for the 83/84 season involving geological mapping, geochemical sampling, costeaning and percussion drilling.
