Abstract: Exploration Licence No 158, of approximately 26. 5 square miles, is located within the Alligator Rivers Uranium Province. This exploration licence extends east from the South Alligator River and terminates near Nourlangie Creek; to the north it is bounded by the Woolwonga Aboriginal Reserve and to the south by Noranda's Exploration Licence No 281. During 1974 the investigation was concentrated on the Anomaly 73-8, which was the strongest anomaly on the Licence, and was also the most attractive from geological evidence. The area in question is in the north east quarter of the exploration licence, approximately two miles north west of Mount Cahill. Geochemical, geophysical investigations and rotary percussion drilling were carried out.
