Title Holder / Company: Nobelex
Report id: CR1974-0020
Tenure: EL676
Year: 1974
Abstract: Exploration Licence 676 covers an area of 85 square miles and is located 12 miles west of Tennant Creek. Exploration work during the period consisted of a complete coverage of the area by low level airborne magnetometry with subsequent evaluation. The survey was flown at a height of 300 feet M.T.C., and a flight mean line spacing of mile. Data was collected with a proton magnetometer. A total of three prospects were selected for ground follow-up, and have been located on the ground ready for gridding. In addition, an area of interest was delineated by prospecting. A hammer drill hole was completed into this prospect and samples assayed. A 220? hammer hole SHDH 96 was drilled to test beneath the outcrop. The hammer drill hole was completed to the water table at 200. feet where 20 feet of core was cut for rock type identification. The hole intersected a fine grained adamellite which has undergone chloritic and sericitic alteration, Slight traces of disseminated pyrite were noted in the core. Background geochemical values were recorded through the full hole interval, The core was split and assayed for gold - all the results being trace.
