Abstract

Magnetic anomalies G101, GW306, GW307, GW308 and GW411 were selected for ground examinations after qualitative interpretation of data from earlier aeromagnetic surveys and extrapolation of data from the BONNNY WELL 1:250,000 sheet, the TENNANT CREEK 1:63360 sheet and data from reconnaissance geological traverses. Generally; the areas considered to be underlain by sediments of the Warramunga Group and granites; although complete lack of basement outcrop west of the Claypan and Kelly West precluded reliable interpretation. The aeromagnetic pattern in the areas selected, showed disturbance; Suggesting a possible favourable environmentt within Warramunqa Group rocks. Generally; the exploration was aimed at delineation of a magnetic source similar to the magnetite bodies associated with copper-gold mineralization in the Tennant Creek area.
