Title: Report on exploration MCC 798 and MCC 1001 Mammoth for year ended 12th October, 1992
Title Holder / Company: Aberfoyle Resources
Report id: CR1992-0671
Tenure: MCC789;  MCC1001
Year: 1992
Author: Drown, CG
Abstract: The report summarises exploration activities carried out on the area, which include geological mapping, sampling and ground magnetic survey. The duplicate sampling and rock chip sampling confirmed the Au anomalous nature of the Mammoth prospect, however the distribution of Au is very patchy. Rock chip samples indicate that the ironstone body and adjacent brecciated and sheared sediments are occasionally auriferous. A 3 line km ground magnetic survey was conducted and indicated the presence of a small, shallow magnetic body related to the ironstone outcrop. Drilling program of six RC holes totalling 700m was designed to test main ironstone bearing structure.
