Abstract: | The initial evaluation was conducted by Perilya Mines who conducted stream rock chip, ground EM and an airborne EM. The sample results were low, but some EM conductors were indicated. MIM joint ventured into the area and part of the licence was initialy covered by Questem and Geochem airborne surveys and conductors were indicated. During 1994 -956 holes were drilled but no significant anomalism was indicated. The following year 894 lag samples were collected which showed two significent Cu, Pb, Zn anomalism which was confirmed by rock chip sampling. A trial soil sampling program using partial extraction techniques did not verify the anomalism. During 1996 a Sirotem survey was completed with 2 conductors indicated which were drilled in the following year which intersected bitumous pyritic siltstone in one hole, however no significant basemetal values were recorded, nevertheless the conductor suggests a large basin. |
