Abstract: | Work on the Kokoda Grid included gridding, 46 auger samples and 6 RC holes totalling 624m. The Auger drilling outlined two N-S trending soil anomalies with a maximum value of 520ppb Au. RC drill follow up intersected basalt. The mineralization is associated with narrow sub vertical quartz veins in basalt. At Crusade 49 auger samples and 14 RC holes totalling 1380m were completed. This drilling indicated that there may be potential for further mineralisation, associated with the contact between the rhyolite and the basalt. This mineralisation is thought to occur within narrow quartz veins, whose extent is yet to be established. |
