Abstract: | During year 1, 256 heavy mineral stream sediment samples were taken with a significant number of chromites of basaltic origin recovered, in addition 7 samples contained rounded garnet grains of kimberlitic origin. An additional 83 infill samples were collected with 5 garnets recovered. The irregular scatter of these grains suggests a secondary source. During year 2 an additional 78 samples were collected, again a number of samples contained chromites of basaltic affinity, and one kimberlitic garnet recovered. It is possible that the Montejinni Limestone is the source of the secondary garnet. |
