Abstract: | This report summarises all the work completed on the licence since 1993. Northern Territory Gold Mines completed a work programme consisting of a literature review of available geological and exploration data and purchased digital aerial geophysical data. Northern Gold completed a work programme based on digital data studies, regional soil sampling, infill soil sampling, rock chip sampling, MMI geochemical soil sampling, geological mapping and RC drilling between 1995 and 1998. The regional soil sampling programmes completed in the 1995/96 and 1997/98 field seasons consisted of the collection of 346 samples. A NNW trending anomalous area was identified with peak gold results of 44ppb, 18.6ppb and 13.6ppb. During the 1996/97 field season, Northern Gold completed an MMI geochemical soil sampling programme and an RC drilling programme. Results were disappointing, however a zone of low grade gold mineralisation hosted by haematitic mudstone and graphitic shale was intersected on RC section 8537900N. The infill soil sampling programme in 1997/98 consisted of the collection of 73 samples, and returnrd assay values uo to 100ppb Au. In addition, a total of 43 quartz rock chip samples were collected during this field season. These were analysed for Au and As giving encouraging results with maximum assay values to 3375ppb Au and 1950ppm As. |
