Title: EL 5870 final report on areas not retained under other title, to 16-12-1996
Title Holder / Company: Northern Gold
Camelot Northern Territory
Report id: CR1996-0942
Tenure: EL5870
Year: 1996
Author: Socic, N
Abstract: The licence area was originally 4 blocks, and was reduced to 2 in February 1992. The southern block was relinquished in December 1992 after a mineral lease was pegged in the north-east of the block. EL 5870 was allowed to expire on the 16th of October 1996. This report outlines all exploration completed over the 4 blocks of EL 5870 during its tenure, excluding the area that was retained. The area of EL 5870 that was retained by Northern Gold is under MCN 4459 and ERL 145 and therefore all exploration details and results are excluded from this report. However this information is included in previous company reports. Geochemical sampling has previously outlined a 700 x 400m gold anomaly with values to 418ppb Au. Rock chip values to 4.28ppm Au were obtained from quartz veins in a synclinal closure of quartz wacke and conglomerates. The mineralisation is believed to be the N-W extension of the Au mineralisation at the Virginia Mine.
