Abstract: | Stream sediment sampling on EL 7605 recovered a single diamond (.004 Cts), basaltic spinels and 2 possibly kimberlitic garnets. The spinel grains recovered were basaltic indicating the presence of some small outliers of unmapped basalt, and the diamond is thought to be little more than a background grain, typical of many such grains found in the Kimberleys and the Northern Territory. The aeromagnetic survey conducted by Kevron produced 4 anomalies of which only one was followed-up by ground magnetics. 4 loam samples were collected from this anomaly which proved negative with respect to diamonds and kimberlitic indicators. The magnetic surveys failed to highlight any targets indicative of an economic source rock. Both licences have little potential to host an economic diamondiferous intrusive and have therefore been relinquished. |
