| Abstract: | A three metre thick copper occurrence has previously been reported from a cherty band near the top of the Antrim Plateau basalts. It is suggested that the deposit may be of fumarolic origin and gold maybe associated with the copper. A literature search revealed that it had been assayed by Tipperary Land Corporation in 1967/68 and found to average less than 0.06% Cu. On the basis of these poor results by previous explorers the area was surrendered in the first year of tenure. |
