| Abstract: | The dune sands average 2.45% and the delta sands 0.16% heavy minerals. The main mineral present is ilmenite with small amounts of zircon, rutile, and xenotime. Estimated reserves in dune sands approx 400,000 Cub m at a grade of 2.45% heavy minerals reserves in the delta sand much greater but grade 0.16%. Due to low grade, remoteness and large tidal variation which makes mining difficult no further work is recommended. |
