Annual Report Keep River Salt Project EL 6561 and EL 6562

Abstract

The tenements were acquired due to an assumption based on available seismic and gravity data which suggested that the Keep River area may host a large salt deposit of Silurian age. A gravity survey on the eastern and western flank of the area suggests a greater depth of material to basement rather than a salt horizon. The central area is yet to be examined. Laguan gravity survey undertaken over portions of the tenements. Much of the report is dedicated to a discussion to the commercial market for salt and a summary of the tectonic history of the Bonaparte Basin-Petrel sub-basin.
