Abstract: | North Ringwood prospect lies near the southern boundary of ERL 87 and the extension into the ERL is known as 'Old Workings'. This prospect has numerous shallow excavations and shafts dug principally in 1984, 1898 and up to 1902. The creeks have been worked for alluvial and eluvial gold. Pelican is along strike but has no old workings. Previous exploration is summarised. At least two on-ground geophysical surveys and extensive soil geochemical surveys have been completed. An extensive program of drilling and costeaning tested gold and arsenic anomalies. Inferred resources of over one million tonnes grading about 0.8 g/t has been established at Pelican and over 50,000 tonnes at about 2.6 g/t at Old Workings. These zones are open along strike and the potential of the 2.5 km between them has yet to tested. IP and ground magnetics were found to be of limited use in this area. A comprehensive set of data including locations of key drillholes (including nearby NTGS drilling) is presented in hardcopy but is unfortunately only in local grid. |
