| Abstract: | Seven sections of the creek were sampled. For each section 5 samples were collected giving 10-12kg of sample-section. Hand separation showed very little material other than garnet in the heavy fraction. The main size fraction was 500um-1600um (u 50% of the total sample). Under magnification garnet shown to be coated in clay, or are intergrowths of feldspar and garnet where the feldspar has partially altered to clay. |
