Title: Report on Area relinquished & area retained, Margaret River MCN's
Title Holder / Company: Territory Resources

Tenure: EL4415
Year: 1988
Author: Ormsby, WR
Abstract: Previous exploration on EL 4415, concentrated upon evaluating the alluvial, and to a lesser extent the hardrock gold potential of areas south of the current licence area. The recent discovery of a substantial hardrock gold deposit in the adjoining Woolwonga Field has highlighted the prospectivity of this area. Exploration this year (year 4) was aimed primarily at hardrock gold mineralisation. Surface rock sampling, stream silt geochemistry and panning, a Geo-Flite remote sensing survey and a re-interpretation of the aeromagnetic data were carried out.
As a result of this work, three blocks were selected for the mandatory 50% relinquishment in April 1988. Indications of gold mineralisation were found in two areas, and further prospective zones were delineated within the region required for relinquishment. These were covered by tenement applications prior to relinquishment. Indications of hardrock gold mineralisation were found at Site 5 and Site 8. Hardrock gold mineralisation is associated with quartz veins in this area. Arsenopyrite is a common accessory mineral.
