Abstract: Investigation of the laterite highlighted two areas which may be prospective for underlying pegmatites. Some coarse tantalite crystals were found in the cobble wash of Leviathan Creek. Mineralization appears erratic in the unconsolidated alluvium. Sampling of the lateritised cobble alluvials found persistent and consistent heavy mineral concentrates (primarily cassiterite-Sn:Ta:Nb 10:1:1). The mineral is fine grained.
