Abstract: | Soil sampling near the Driffield Mining Centre outlined a number of areas with anomalous gold geochemistry. Arsenic anomalies are associated with the gold anomalism. 1850m of costeans were dug in the areas of gold soil anomalism. The results of geochemistry from the costeans showed that the Au mineralisation was spotty and discontinuous gold mineralisation is hosted by iron stained, gossanous quartz veins and adjacent sediments. The veins are steeply dipping and mineralisation may be localised at the intersection of N-S and NE-SW trending structures. The gold mineralisation has a high nugget factor. |
