Abstract: | 6 BLEG stream sediment samples outlined the Airstrip anomaly (approximately 2 square kilometres.) Follow up of this anomaly comprises 378 soil samples, geological mapping and 37 rock chip samples. The soil programme outlined 3 areas of elevated gold values. The gold anomaly designated as Area 2 has a coincident arsenic anomaly. Several low order lead anomalies were also recognised, one within Area 2. Only one rock chip sample was considered anomalous at 1.1g-t Au from Anomaly 1. A further follow up of these anomalous areas comprised 394 soil samples and 40 rock chip samples. Area 1 anomalous values are contained in a major box fold (max 6.8g-t Au, 4.26% Pb and 1.95% As). Area 2 contains 2 zones of anomalous Au and As values. Area 3 has anomalous Au, As and Pb values trending NS correlating to a zone of quartz veins (max 13.2ppm Au). |
