Abstract: | The wagon wheel prospect is characterised by the intersection of numerous faults. A single outcrop is associated with the feature. This outcrop is dominated by a large quartz reef, hosted in coarse grained arenite. The reef is coincident with one of the major intersecting magnetic discontinuities. Soil sampling on the flanks of the quartz reef had only a few slightly elevated values. Vacuum drilling showed that the alluvial cover was 2.6m thick. The rocks encountered were highly oxidised and showed evidence of primary haematite and chlorite. |
