Abstract: | This report covers exploration to locate Cambrian limestone for cement manufacture on EL 2118 from November 1979 to September 1981. Reconnaissance field mapping and sampling traverses resulted in 120 rock chip samples which were assayed by AMDEL. The Limestone Hill and Fenceline Grids showed zones of acceptable quality limestone. The former was considered the most prospective with 25% of the assay results within specifications. 'Higher' quality was defined as CaCO3/MgCO3 greater (note report uses wrong symbol) than 10. It was noted that there appeared to be little physical difference visible between limestone of acceptable standard and that which was not. Overall, it was concluded that results did not warrant continuation and the title was recommended to be surrendered. Note this report reiterates much of the previous annual report. |
