Abstract: | lead and to a leaser extent zinc ore concentrated as trace elements which seem to coincide with surface enrichment of iron and manganese. Frequent surface anomalies of lead and zinc constitute a tempting target for exploration. Indications are that bituminous carbonates of the Arrinthrunga Formation and Arthur Creek Beds are the most likely hosts for PB and zinc deposits. The likelihood of Olympic Dam type of mineralisation is remote. Interpretation of magnetic data could help to delineate targets of kimberlite potential. |
