Abstract: | The potential for gold mineralisation remains untested in this area. A programme of geological mapping and drainage sampling is required to assess the area. The sedimentary sequence represents shallow marine fluviatile deposition accompanied by periods of basic to acid volcanism. Considerable basinal subsidence must have taken place accompanied by rift faulting as evidenced by the emplacement of mafic sills and volcanics. Therefore the region may be prospective for stratabound gold mineralisation. |
